I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. As always, my opinions and sentiments are my own and I express them freely, regardless of sponsorship because I partner with brands I love.
I’ve been full of office organization ideas for about the past week or so, as I soak in the reality that I’m probably not going back to my corporate office anytime soon.
Having the right tools is the first step to ensuring you can be productive in your environment.
Let’s talk tools
I was fortunate to have the team at Erin Condren gift me some very practical and beautiful pieces to organize my office and I’m already seeing a difference in my productivity.
Having a place for everything is key. When I don’t, items just pile up and then I get overwhelmed, unsure of what to do with them. I’m really liking these nesting trays (they come oval, which I have in pinks, and round, which I have in brights) because they’re beautiful but you can also set things you need and use on a regular basis right in front of you.
I’m guilty of leaving things like notepads and pens strewn about my entire desk so when I saw this acrylic organizer set, I was so excited! It has room for my writing utensils, sticker album, loose paper, and more. Plus, I love love love the design!
A couple of other tools worth noting are:
- the petite checklist journal (which I’m going to use to keep track of when I do those mundane chores like wipe baseboards down and change filters on various appliances)
- a gorgeous luxe weekly scheduling pad,
- they both fit in an acrylic petiteplanner holder (in the prior photo on the right)
Use the tools to organize
Organizing is key before you can begin to see changes in your productivity.
- keep things you use frequently within reach – hiding them in drawers, etc. takes more time to find and becomes cumbersome
- if you use something daily, put it closer to you than something you use weekly or monthly
- is something you have not bringing you joy? get rid of it by donation or selling and make room for something that does
- “write” things down! I love using paper because the fact that I have to move my hands off my keyboard to write something and see it on paper helps me remember it.
- This weekly schedule pad is going to be a lifesaver for me! Click the photo if you want to shop it.
