what’s in my cart – june edition

I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. As always, my opinions and sentiments are my own and I express them freely, regardless of sponsorship because I partner with brands I love.

I love that you were all curious about what I leave strewn about in my carts online! I typically go back and look at them to assess whether I’m ready to invest, delete, or edit. Truth be told: sometimes I’m just waiting for a retailer to notice I left it there and send me what they call a “cart abandonment email”, which is a deal that aims to get you to check out with your item(s). What can I say? Getting good deals allows me to buy more of what’s on my list!

Clothing / Shoes

Madewell High Rise Denim

Seeing these jeans reminded me that I owe you guys a Good American and Madewell denim try-on post. I loved both brands during that try-on but couldn’t quite purchase every pair I really liked that day. The pair above was the pair that I told myself I’d purchase next. Great denim is a splurge and these jeans showed me why they’re worth it-they’re soft, yet durable, perfect high rise, yet cropped at just the right length. I just realized that this exact pair is on sale for under $90 and then an extra 20% off with code DOUBLEYAY right now. IN. MY. CART.

North Star Notes Madewell Denim

Here’s a photo of me in them – obviously, I wouldn’t wear that top front tucked like I did here. So comfy and definitely worth the cost!

Marc Fisher Bryte Sandals

I love these Marc Fisher sandals! I got a similar pair in another color last year and they hold up SO well and work with both casual and more dressed up looks. I wore mine to work a lot, so they are definitely office-appropriate! They’re on sale for under $40 right now (I paid over $100 for last year’s), and I’m thinking I would wear these just as much this season.

This kimono is gorgeous! I love that it comes in sizes small through 5X and best part? It’s affordable at under $20 and is definitely in my cart. I envision wearing it with jeans, jean shorts, or even leggings on a plane when I travel.

Soludos Wedges

I think I added these adorable blush lace up espadrilles to my cart in the winter. They are so different from what I normally see in espadrille styles and would be perfect with dresses for work or shorts this summer. The only thing that’s been holding me back is the price, combined with the fact that I haven’t been able to try them on (they aren’t in stores near me). I might bite the bullet with the free, quick shipping and great return policy, though!

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

I have been eyeing these faux leather leggings for more than a year. The only thing that was holding me back was the fact that I am plus sized and I didn’t think this would be my best look. I did follow a few ladies on Instagram who are around my size/shape and have the leggings – which looked great on them! I think I’m going to invest in (or at least order) them soon to try next fall and winter. Everyone who has them says that they suck them in where they feel insecurities. Sign me up!

pearl sandals

I have seen these adorable sandals all over this summer! I love that they come in a variety of colors and that the pearls dress them up! I think they would go great with both casual and dressy looks but I can’t decide which color to get.

Kate Spade x Keds Confetti Platforms

How much fun are these confetti platforms?! These are completely and totally ME! Definitely in my cart and ready for me to act. I know a few ladies who definitely need these, too.

Jewelry / Accessories

Bracha Initial Pendant Necklace

I love the way this cute, gold initial pendant looks on Alexa Anglin from Lately With Lex and knew I had to add it to my cart. I am a sucker for initialed and monogrammed jewelry and this is not an exception. This pendant also looks really sophisticated when it’s layered with other gold necklaces. It looks like it is great quality and perfect for everyday!

Apple Watch Band

This Apple Watch band is playful and fun, but neutral enough to wear every day! It is a faux leather material, which is really important. I had one that was not as smooth, which ended up ripping the inside of the sleeves of my tops in the winter time. I love being able to change the look of my watch whenever I like for a reasonable cost and the cute bands like this one definitely help!

Floppy Brown Sun Hat

While skincare is important, so is keeping your face out of the sun. A sophisticated, neutral hat that goes with all of your swimwear, cover ups, and the like is key. I need to invest in a hat for protection and this one is both affordable and quality, so it’s in my cart.

Beauty

MAC Milan Mode Lipstick

This is my favorite brand of lipstick! I’ve worn it since high school and have drifted to other brands from time-to-time but always come back. When I saw this shade, I thought it was PERFECT for summer! The price point is reasonable because a tube lasts a really long time.

Sunday Riley - Good Genes

This lactic acid treatment is supposed to be amazing for your skin! I’ve finally been getting my skin in better shape by paying attention to it. It’s a splurge, but exfoliates for better cell regeneration – you wear your skin every day!

drybar dry shampoo

I have tried so many dry shampoos through the years. I’ve tried the drugstore lines and I’ve tried bottles that cost $40 a piece. This is in the middle of those two price points and is my FAVORITE. Not only does it have a really nice scent, but it helps me keep my oil under control without getting cakey on my scalp. They also make a version formulated specifically for brunettes.

I have watched so many tutorials about this awesome little tool for your skin. It’s called the GloPRO and does microneedling at for your face and skin at home. Microneedling has shown benefits immediately by plumping your skin and making you look radiant, but has also been proven to increase collagen and elastin production in the long term over time.

Body Blur Lotion

I love a good self tan (or natural Vitamin D tan) as much as the next person, but sometimes the tan doesn’t show up evenly on your skin. This lotion has looked so good on everyone I’ve seen it on! It provides a little bit of color to your skin but doesn’t sweat or rub off – making your color look completely even. It’s a little bit of a splurge, but it has been said not to take much to achieve the desired effect.

Home

slip silk pillowcase

I wasn’t sure how I felt about spending a hefty amount on a silk pillowcase, especially when they were popping up like a fad. I got a really nice gift card around Christmas and decided to splurge on one of these pillowcases. I sleep like a dream when I am laying on this cool piece of silk. It also helps my hair stay smooth while I’m sleeping, rather than waking up with my hair in a complete tangled mess. I love the one I have so much that I have another in my cart – LOVING this print!

I have been trying to do my part in reducing waste and using reusable straws, rather than single-use plastic ones. I have reusable straws at home (for my Starbucks cups) but I can do a better job in carrying them in my purse for use when disposable straws are the only option. This set is under $20 and comes with a carrying bag and cleaners, so it’s a great deal.

Miscellaneous

Spanx Shapewear

I am being blatantly honest and I have a feeling that some of you feel the same – I hate wearing summer dresses sometimes. The fabric is lightweight and breezy, but you can either see through the entire thing (including the lumps and bumps) or you’ve got rolls sticking out every which way. Shapewear is a key to helping me feel confident in those dresses, but I am pretty picky about what I wear. I like being able to wear my own bra and have enough coverage on the thighs, but not too much. I found the seemingly perfect solution in my favorite brand, so I’ve added it to my cart. A huge benefit to this shapewear is that it comes in XS through 3X, so you can wear it no matter what size you are, if you need it to love your body.

Do you have experience with anything that’s in my cart? I’d love your feedback so I can make some decisions! Let me know in the comments.
