LOFT Sale {Friends and Family}

I am SO excited about the LOFT sale!!! I have been waiting for their Plus line to debut and finally made it to the location in Minnesota that carries the line in store. One of the most exciting things that a brand can do with size-inclusive lines is to ensure that the same items are available in Regular and Plus. So far, LOFT has and it has been much appreciated.

LOFT’s Friends and Family sale is going on right now (through Tuesday, October 23) and almost everything is 40% off with code FRIENDS. I also signed up for text alerts and got an extra 10% off. I’ve had multiple pieces from LOFT on my wish list and I finally bit the bullet. I made my first order online the day it began and then stopped into that store to try some items in person today.

I love the items I found and purchased nearly everything. I’ll let you know about fit in my commentary to follow (assuming it’s the same sort of fit in Regular as it is in Plus, when I say things like “True to Size” or “size down”. Let me know what you’re loving and decide to scoop up!

THE TRY-ON SESSION:

I’ve had my eye on this sweater poncho (regular / plus) for about a solid two months. I love that it’s a gorgeous neutral cream color with speckles, but isn’t the typical solid black that I gravitate to in the cooler months. The fit on the poncho is oversized — I actually ordered it online in my true size and tried it on in store — ended up swimming in it. I grabbed a size down and will return the one from online when it gets here. Love this with jeans (pictured here — non LOFT) but would also be great with faux leather leggings or dress pants. My flats are Steve Madden.

I needed some new blouses for work and loved the details on this one (regular / plus)! It is white, with gorgeous large dots, which give off gorgeous texture, and feminine detail to the neckline with the buttons as well as the sleeves. I’ve paired it with the comfiest pair of black leggings (which come in both regular and plus) but it would also look cute with a skirt or a pair of skinny jeans and booties. I recommend going true-to-size.

I was really looking forward to trying this dolman sweater (regular / plus) in store! It is incredibly soft and would pair nicely with skirts, jeans, or dress pants. It’s a great price point and I like having some extra fabric under my arms, so needless to say, dolman tops are usually my jam. I loved the light pink color of the sweater and the fabric was oh, so soft, but I didn’t like the way this one hugged my middle and was lighter in color than I’d hoped. This sweater is true-to-size.

 

This blouse jumped out to me in store. It’s one of the first things I picked up because its color is so amazing, but also because I am a huge sucker for the feminine details on the cuffs. I rarely wear button up tops because I always run the risk of having a top pull due to my chest and sometimes, I think they make me look too masculine. This one was gorgeous and looked so flattering on! I knew it would be the perfect top to build a great workwear outfit on. I’ve got the leggings on in this photo also and will show you how I styled a few pieces to make a great workwear outfit with this sale!

Here is a close up of the pattern on the top as well as the beautiful cuff detail that I mentioned above. I cannot wait to wear this one — it is true-to-size!

The piece to complete this professional combo is this beautiful gray blazer (regular / plus). I gravitated toward the blazer because it has a gorgeous subtle herringbone pattern on it. The blazer is well-constructed, in a thick fabric. The elbows have a dark gray patch on them, making the blazer look ultra chic and expensive. It completely ties my outfit together and makes me feel confident and successful. It is at a great price point during the LOFT sale, too! I went true-to-size.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I am a huge sucker for anything animal print. Let me tell you — I was THRILLED that leopard was one of the hottest trends this fall. I am here for it! I grabbed this light chiffon leopard blouse and while I loved the pattern, I didn’t love the fit. I skipped this one, since my fitting room was already full. The blouse is true-to-size if you’re loving it!

I absolutely love striped items but when they get a little too short, they tend to make me look wider than I am. That’s where this awesome mixed media sweater (regular / plus) wins! The little pop of white chiffon under the gorgeous maple honey and black sweater fabric gives it the length I need. This sweater is true-to-size.

If I’m being honest, I had no idea that this sweater had the coolest surprise in the back! The chiffon continues around the back and the sweater portion is split to reveal it. Could not love this one more. I know I’ll reach for it over and over again!

Another simple but gorgeous blouse (regular / plus) to wear to work or to happy hour with my lady friends! The white background keeps things bright and airy but I love the beautiful pattern adorned on the blouse, too. The next photo will show a closer view of the pattern. The back has a cute little cutout that’s modest but also flirty and fun. The above photo shows it with jeans and the bottom with the leggings. I would recommend getting your typical size in this blouse.

I’m a sucker for plaid anything in the fall and winter. This gorgeous plaid blouse (regular / plus) took a bit of self-convincing, only because I had already picked a few button-ups today. It was one of the last items I tried on but I just loved the ruffle collar too much to pass it up during the LOFT sale! I tried it with jeans, for a more casual look but it can certainly be dressed up just as easily. The blouse is true-to-size.

I also decided to try this cute reversible poncho wrap over the plaid top for a good layering effect. This wrap is so, so soft and I like that it can give you two different looks in neutral colors. Definitely a great piece to have in your wardrobe this season!
