I went into the store with the goal of finding some new workwear pieces that will look professional and be versatile. Local ladies: LOFT Mall of America (and I have also heard LOFT Rosedale) are also carrying PLUS in-store, in addition to LOFT Woodbury Lakes. So happy to have three places to find LOFT Plus in the Twin Cities!
Here’s what I tried and liked (in the same order as my Instagram stories):
I’ll be honest – I wasn’t sure about this top when I grabbed it in store. It comes in both regular and plus, so I thought, “why not?” and brought it into the room with me. I like that it has a looser fit so it’s not incredibly tight around my body and not only does it look great with denim, but it would also work under a blazer with black pants or a skirt for work. The sleeves have an elastic band around them and bring in a feminine ruffle at the cuff, which I love because I don’t like tight cuffs on my shirts. I am wearing my true size and felt that the fit was great for me.
This adorable jacket was one of the items that LOFT carried last year and I saw it a little too late. It comes in both regular and plus sizes and the 40% off sale makes this coat really affordable! I’m wearing my true size here. I love that the jacket has really thick lining and keeps you warm, even when wearing a dress or skirt. It’s a great gray color, which can be worn with neutrals or pops of color. If you’re looking for a dressy coat that’s affordable, this one is a winner.
I bought a cream colored sweater with flecks of color that looked like a funfetti cake at LOFT last year, but it was a wide crew neck and had a different weave to it. This year’s version is a beautiful, close-knit mock neck and is available in petite, regular, and plus! The store carried it in regular, so I grabbed an XL to try, which is a couple of sizes smaller than what I would normally choose. It fit and was not restrictive, but I would have preferred the 20/22, based on how the XL fit my body around my hips and midsection. I loved the soft fabric and the lighter weight, so I think I’ll be ordering it online because it is a versatile choice for the season.
As I mentioned before, I went into LOFT looking for workwear items to keep my wardrobe fresh this fall and winter. I love this gorgeous rose colored double breasted blazer. LOFT’s blazers are really great quality – in fact, the herringbone gray one I picked up last season is also available and on sale. I like the blazer I tried last night because it’s a unique color that can add visual interest to a neutral wardrobe and the fact that it’s double breasted is unique in itself. The top that I wore under the blazer came home with me – it’s a wonderful layering piece that will look amazing under blazers or alone with patterned skirts with its embroidery across the chest and arms. I did purchase this in PLUS but can’t find it on LOFT’s site in those sizes – yet. Here it is in regular.
Red looks awesome on me and I can’t stay away from the color through the holiday season. This top was beautiful (wearing it true to size, comes in regular and plus) under both sweaters and blazers, knowing that I could wear it casually (as you see in the photo) or with more proper workwear pants or skirts. I also styled it in a couple of different ways below.
Oversized scarves and/or shawls look great over a solid top and keep your neck warm while they’re there, adding visual interest. This beautiful oversized scarf could also serve as a shawl and is reversible between black and silver – with super cute polka dots. The fact that it’s black and silver also adds to its versatility with other outfits.
Poncho wraps have come so far in such a short time! This particular poncho wrap already has arm holes sewed in, so you don’t have to worry about constant readjustment throughout the day or evening when you’re wearing it. It also comes in sizes XS/S or M/L to ensure that it is sized appropriately and that you’re not found with too much or too little fabric. The beige and cream color against the bold red is such a fun combination, too!
There are so many more items I would have loved to try in-store at LOFT but I had limited time and the store is just beginning their foray into PLUS. Check out some other amazing items at 40% off here!
