Hey! You guys! Where is the summer going? It has been so hot in Minnesota this week and I am honestly getting really excited for Fall. Maybe it’s because I picked up some staple pieces for the season + I have very little patience when it comes to saving items for later, or maybe it’s just because I’m over the summer. Either way, I’ve got some new faves to share with you.
beauty
garnier micellar cleansing water: I use the “blue” variety, because it states that you don’t have to rub or scrub to get makeup off (even the waterproof variety) and it absolutely delivers on its promise. Right now, there’s a retailer that has these guys buy one, get one 40% off! Time for me to stock up because my face feels so clean; not oily, grimy, or that any residue has been left behind. I use it daily.
drunk elephant skincare products: I was SO excited to try these products because they’ve been getting rave reviews by many people I trust, plus, they’re clean. Good skincare is worth the investment, but with skin that’s usually really picky, I decided to opt to purchase the travel sized products first in case they did not work well. I bought the travel sized products in May and it is now early August and I’m finally running low. I will be investing in the larger sizes of my favorite products from drunk elephant.
In the morning, I pump some B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel and C-Firma Day Serum into the palm of my hand along with Protini Polypeptide Cream and mix it together with a finger. Then, I gently rub into my face and let it absorb.
In the evening, I pump the TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, Virgin Marula Oil, and Protini Polypeptide Cream into my palm and mix it together with a finger. I gently rub it into my face and go to bed.
Of note: I also tried the Beste Jelly Cleanser and the Lala Retro Whipped Cream. I thought that the cleanser was good, but not amazing, and I prefer the Protini Polypeptide Cream over the Lala Retro Whipped Cream, so I won’t purchase the full version of it.
If I had to choose ONE product from drunk elephant to invest in, I don’t think that I could. That being said, I think that my nighttime combo is making the largest difference in my skin. I’ve seen many of my lines and imperfections minimize or go away altogether because of the nighttime combination. When I’ve had acne (and I’m prone to scarring, because I can’t leave my face alone when I have it — horrible habit), I typically get scars. DE has REALLY helped with this!
estee lauder double wear foundation: I absolutely LOVE this foundation! It is new to me, but again, was recommended. It comes in 48 shades, which is perfect because we are not created equal. It’s the perfect medium to full-coverage foundation that is lightweight but blends so nicely and stays put all day long. I wear it in the shades cool vanilla when I’m not tan and buff when I am.

gorgeous textured cardigan: LOVING the fact that this cardigan has some really pretty texture to it + is a great, affordable free people dupe. It comes in three colors and is available in misses AND plus sizes!
faux leather leggings: there is nothing hotter than faux leather leggings in the fall! They are so versatile + black goes with (almost) everything. This pair is available in both misses and plus sizes, too.
barefoot dreams cardigan: This cardigan is like lounging in HEAVEN. Everyone said that this was soft, amazing, and worth the money, and I didn’t believe them. So, I bought it anyway, with the intention of returning it because I wanted to prove it wasn’t worth the hype. I was wrong, and there is no way this is going back. It will be PERFECT to wear in the depths of our FREEZING basement all fall + winter long. I got the cardigan in the color pictured above (almond).
ruffle neck sweater with balloon sleeves: the feminine ruffle neck on this sweater just CALLED out to me! This brand has extended sizing, but, I just wasn’t sure whether it would really work for me. I bought it in the green color (above) because it is one of the best colors on me, but I don’t see it as an option very often. I can’t wait to wear it with accordion skirts, skinny jeans, and so many other pieces in my closet. It came and did end up working well on me. It’s cozy, not scratchy, and roomy enough. The details and comfort make this sweater a winner (and it comes in four amazing colors!)
asymmetrical faux suede trench coat: believe it or not, I didn’t have a coat for fall (even though I live in Minnesota) up until recently. The beautiful coffee color on this coat first caught my eye and then I realized how flattering the asymmetrical silhouette was. I liked the option to belt the trench coat or leave it open, depending on my outfit of the day, or simply how chaotic my morning is. The coat is so soft and is thick enough but also not overly heavy. I can’t wait to wear this gorgeous coat to get me through the chilly fall mornings + transition between seasons!
comfortable + affordable high-waisted leggings (lululemon dupe): I’ve been trying to motivate myself to get back to the gym + stay active. I used to go much more often than I’ve been able lately and good quality attire is the first step for me. I bought these on a whim and when I took them out of the package, I couldn’t believe that they WEREN’T lululemon! The quality is equal, if not better, and I love the high-waisted coverage that these leggings provide. They’re a very thick, super stretchy spandex that will keep you in place and is not see through. I’ve already washed them and am happy to report that they wash up very nicely. I can’t wait to invest in more pairs for my workout routines!
calf hair mules with bow: I wore these flats earlier this week with a simple black bell-sleeved dress and a ballerina bun in my hair. I have never had more compliments on an outfit in a single day! Okay, maybe I have, but it was one of my most acknowledged outfits as of late and these shoes were the focal point. I am LOVING mules right now, as they’re super comfortable, effortless, and fun. I am a sucker for almost anything animal print in classy taste, and I love the addition of the black bow on top of these guys. I can’t wait to pair them with some other fun outfits this fall + share them here! If you’re going to get ONE pair of shoes this fall, let it be these.
super soft thermal henley tee: I was strolling around the store of one of my favorite retailers, touching fabrics like I do from time-to-time. I happened to grab the sleeve of this thermal henley tee and I picked it up without thinking twice. This top is so incredibly comfortable and is a great, effortless layering piece for casual fall days (including football games + tailgating) or for lounging at home on the weekends. I picked it up in white, but it also comes in two more colors and I’m tempted to scoop them up, too!
