currently {february 2020}

I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. As always, my opinions and sentiments are my own and I express them freely, regardless of sponsorship because I partner with brands I love.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared the “things” that I’ve been buying, using, receiving, wishing for, watching, listening to, and all of those things. I decided it was easier to name this segment “currently”, so that’s what it’ll be called! Here we go!

Jewelry

I’ve received (and purchased) a lot of Kendra Scott jewelry lately – I got my first piece as a gift last year and have been hooked ever since. If you want 20% off your full-price purchase at Kendra Scott (and have never purchased there before), use this link.

gold hoop earrings customized

The earrings I wore in my IGTV video (with the hot pink stones) are the Elora and I had them customized through the Color Bar at Kendra Scott. The Color Bar means you pick the metal and style of jewelry and then also select the stones. Pretty cool! My exact Color Bar “recipe” is the gold Elora with magenta magnesite stones.

I also showed you the Val hoops that I recently got for my birthday. I love gold jewelry and wanted something that was light enough to wear every day and these definitely fit the bill! I would highly recommend them if you’re looking for something that adds texture to your accessories.

The cute heart necklace that I showed is called the Ari. It’s a short chain and comes in a couple of different metals with different stones. I loved the uniqueness of the abalone shell, as every shell is unique and no two necklaces will be the same for that reason. The Ari also comes in earrings if you would rather have something like that.

My exact tortoise Baublebar earrings are sold out, but look at these similar earrings – so cute and neutral for everyday wear! They’re so fun and not just for February.

Here is a link to my custom gold beaded bracelet. You can customize up to 12 characters – they’re really high quality and look so adorable on your wrist. They also have additional solid bracelets to mix in, so you can create a unique stack!

Accessories / Home

I am rocking a decent headband collection lately and running out of places to put them! I saw this headband holder on another influencer’s stories and added it to my wishlist a while ago. I actually got it just today and put my headbands on it right away. You can see that it roughly fits five headbands – more if your headbands are skinnier. The stand also disassembles at the top to be able to store jewelry or other accessories in the center. Great value at just under $20.

soft stone colored blanket throw

I am a certified Barefoot Dreams addict – their stuff is just so cozy! When it’s winter for basically seven months out of the year in Minnesota, you have to be able to bundle up. I got this blanket for my birthday and was so excited! I love the cozychic Barefoot Dreams stuff and knew I wanted a solid blanket that was a bit more neutral. They do also have the blankets in striped options at this price point if you’re looking for something a little different. They come wrapped with this big ribbon, so the blankets are also perfect to give as gifts! You can find more options at full-price, including the leopard print here. Peanut also loves it and can’t get enough snuggle time when the blanket is out. Evidence below.

Beauty and Skincare

I’ve been really invested in beauty and skincare items lately! Here are some items that have caught my attention:

  • The ultra hydrating Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask – really helps my skin during these dry winters! The mask is actually a cream that you don’t have to wash off. I have been using it frequently as of late and have noticed that my face drinks it right up.
  • Although I love the Summer Fridays mask so far, I recently received a deluxe sample of the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask and decided to try it out. It is technically a cream also, but is more translucent and gets its name because it feels just like water when it is applied. It’s half the price of the Summer Fridays mask and I do love the way it works so far. I can’t say that I favor one or the other in my month or so of use but will keep you updated.
  • Speaking of Laneige, I have used and loved the Lip Sleeping Mask for a little over a year, but recently heard about the Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm, which is supposed to be even better. It must be amazing because it is sold out absolutely everywhere. I tried to buy it at Ulta yesterday, but the primer was stocked behind the trial sample and I grabbed it by accident (and returned). I’m going to get it as soon as it is back in stock and I’ll report back.
  • Another item that I grabbed at Ulta yesterday was a repurchase of Benefit’s Gimme Brow+ (I wear shade 3). It lasted me quite a while and is easy to swipe on your brows to fill in. I tried some other brow products while I was at the store yesterday and they all felt as if they would flake, be too difficult to get off, or didn’t stay long enough, so it was an easy decision to repurchase.
  • I was in need of a new bronzer and have had several people recommend Hoola by Benefit to me. Benefit just created a jumbo limited edition size of their Hoola bronzer and I jumped on it because it was a good value. The jumbo size only comes in the color “medium”, which is the perfect color for contouring. It also comes with a really nice brush that works so well for contouring and fits right in the square container.
  • I’ve heard of the brand, Lime Crime, and have been impressed with the pigmentation on others, so I had to test it for myself. I purchased the color “Turkish Delight”, which is a beautiful pinky-mauve-nude. It is a liquid lipstick that feels incredibly smooth when applied, finishing as a light matte. It has a gorgeous pigment to it, just as I had seen on others, and lasts a decent amount of time. I reapply when necessary but it doesn’t become clumpy or flaky with an additional layer when needed. It’s a good value at $20 and they have really nice colors. See a photo of me wearing it below.

Clothing

I’ve been shopping at LOFT a lot lately – and have asked for/received much of my wish list from there as gifts. Here is what I have from LOFT (all are true to size) and would highly recommend. LOFT has a 40% off full-price tops sale right now (no code needed). Click the photos to shop:

I have a few wishlist items there, too (click items to shop):

I hope that you enjoyed this edition of “currently”! Let me know if you have any questions or comments and I’ll do another post next month.
