instant pot

I think I have just found my new favorite kitchen appliance! Instant Pot did a heck of a job making what is essentially a pressure cooker (which sounds intimidating and creepy to me) sound so appealing and helpful with the crazy, busy life I’m living lately! First of all, you HAVE to get over the fact that it uses pressure to cook. You just do. If you’re using it correctly (read your manual, people), you’ll be golden.

Which model do you choose?

After researching a bit more about this contraption, I decided I “needed” it. I was overwhelmed by the number of models and sizes. I knew that cooking for the two of us wouldn’t require the huge IP, but I knew I’d want something big enough to make meals for an entire week. The Instant Pot DUO80 model seemed to serve my needs well, as I do love to entertain from time-to-time. I couldn’t WAIT to get mine and I bet you will feel the same. Good thing Amazon Prime has you covered there!

My Pinterest board was ready to go the second I ordered it and then had the tough decision of what to make first!
Essentially, that topic is now history as I’m using this thing once or twice a week (with two of us and a husband who fervently believes in leftovers) but it has not let me down.

Recipes: where to find them and what’s good

Everything I’ve made is on my Pinterest board and I’m getting new ideas by the day since I’ve joined the Instant Pot user group on Facebook. Super creative people in there!

Here are some of my favorite recipes to make in it:

pumpkin maple steel-cut oats {instant pot}

instant pot customized gumbo

the quickest, creamiest mac + cheese {instant pot}

cabbage bowls {instant pot}
